In KARATE the most important thing is Kihon: the basis school. Through Kihon, we understand only the learning of basics. For Japanese people the notion of Kihon, besides technique, promote the moral values that make part of Bushido code: respect, courage, courtesy, sense of duty etc.

This education that is promoted in Martial Arts study whit reference to the Bushido code are a universal education. Respect, courage, courtesy, sense of duty are specific not only the Japanese, just in Japanese conception the idea of Kihon is acting more realistic and more effective.

Through Kihon it is giving emphasis to principles, which are the basics of KARATE DO: Zuki waza (fist techniques), Keri waza (feet techniques), Uchi waza (blow techniques), Uke waza (blocking techniques).

This principle gives to the study of KARATE a scientific and systematic sense. Without this, the KARATE techniques may be understands and applied just approximately and superficially. In this case the progress and performance is practically impossible.

The Kihon techniques must be practiced constantly and having in our minds the idea of progress trough corrects execution of KARATE techniques. So that in study of techniques will be followed perfection of positions, breath, balance, and concentration development, flexibility and control development, rhythm, Kime, control of power, power concentration control. So we learn to control our bodies.

Kihon is the fundament of KARATE DO and together whit Kata and Kumite makes from KARATE DO a really art which is given by the unity between body and spirit.
